Over the weekend, we had a barbecue by the sea with friends. It was warm and such a beautiful day.

Everyone else was eating meat, but the atsuyage I brought for myself ended up being a big hit with everyone.
I also brought this simple miso dipping sauce.

Just wrap your favorite grilled ingredients in lettuce with a little of this sauce — so good. I make it almost every time we have a barbecue. It’s also delicious brushed on grilled rice balls.
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp miso
- 1 Tbsp gochujang
- 1 clove garlic, grated
- 2 Tbsp sesame oil
- Ground sesame seeds — as much as you like (I love adding plenty)
Mix everything together — that’s it.
If you like it spicier, reduce the miso and add a little more gochujang.
